21 and can't control my hairloss

Okay so around December I noticed my hair line getting thin on one side and noticed hair falling out so in January I finally went to a doctor and got prescribed finasteride I'm on my 6th month and my hair has never looked worse, and the worst part is my hairline isn't thinning it's just receding like crazy without and visible thinning so I'm on the edge of giving up on it because I have taken progress pictures and this is by far the worst I've looked my hair keeps receding, and I don't know what to do less than a year ago I was told how thick my hair was and how nice my hair looked when I styled it and now I'm so insecure about it I don't look at it in the mirror. I'll post pics but I'm pretty positive finasteride is just not working for me, this past month I was shedding hair far worse then I ever did off of it. It's driving me crazy knowing that finasteride isn't working plz tell me what I need to do.

I just don't understand how I could've lost so much hair in less than a year and I have been checked for thyroid etc, and I want to know if you think my hairline is reversible or ****ed for good please can I get a response and if any helpful tips plz throw them my way thank you.
