Default Using "Real" Aloe Vera after FUE?

I had FUE surgery about 7 weeks ago. After 1 week, I started using pure aloe vera gel on the recipient area to help reduce the redness. I still douse the recipient area every night with aloe vera. It feels great. Has anyone done this over any long periods and do you think there is any downside? Everything I read says aloe vera is great for the scalp, but I don't see much here about using it after FUE.
