Default Crown hairloss... what to do?

    Hello all,

I am 21 years old and have been losing hair in my crown for the past 2 years. I have been on propecia for the past 6 months and I believe it has slowed down and regrown parts of my crown. What else can i do? And what hair transplant surgeon would be recommended for future crown work? Click image for larger version

    Hi.

You're doing a good job taking propecia since it can slow down hairloss and help you keep what hair you have left.

I believe you should add minoxidil/regaine to your regimen (put it on the balding areas of your crown twice daily). You might get some regrowth.

Your hairloss is not that bad - you could add some hair fibers on the crown to cover the thinning.

    Good luck.

It's possible that you'll see more improvement from the Propecia. I agree that it would be worth trying Rogaine to maximize your chances of restoring your crown.

You are on the right track. Wait at least a year to see how meds work. You may recover more and may not need surgery. Id advise you to avoid surgery altogether for now. A lot more damage may occur. You are too young to guage hair loss now. If you werent on meds, you may lose more. You'll be playing catch up with a transplant if you consider it now because you can't forsee where it is headed at this stage. Another thing, you definitely do not want to become a repair patient. You will lose a lot if that happens. Best of luck to you and wish you the best. Hang in there and know tgere are also concealers you can use for the time being if it bugs you much.

Had you seen any improvement after using propecia?
