Marc Dauer, MD- 2061 FUE At 9 Months
Greetings,
Here is an interesting case called "turban traction alopecia" where individuals (commonly from the Sikh tradition) wear their hair very long and tie it up in a tight bun. Anything that puts undue tension on the hair can cause it to fall out. In this case, this young man lost almost all the hair in his frontal scalp and some in the temporal recessions.
I performed an FUE hair transplant on this patient extracting all the follicles with a 0.8mm serrated punch tip.
The patient is already thrilled with his results, but he should see some increased cosmetic density over the next 3-6 months as the hairs continue to thicken.
