30 Male - NW3 - Taking Saw Palmetto Finesteride seeking advice

Hey Everyone,

I'm 30 years old turning 31 in September - from Australia.

My hair has been thinning since 21 and it has got to the stage where I wanted to do something about it.

Went to Ashley and Martin Hair Loss Medical Center for an assessment and signed up for their Real Growth treatment. They said I was a NW3 (thinning on frontal temples and crown area).

Before and since then I have been doing a lot of research and listening to the bald truth radio station - think this is amazing really appreciate all the info and advice.

They want me to take the following:
Saw Palmetto
Finesteride 1mg
Minoxidil
Low Level Light Treatment once every two weeks

So far I have been taking Saw Palmetto and Finesteride for 3 weeks.

Wondering with my situation NW3 would you take the minoxidil? I am afraid that this is a constant commitment that is difficult to do if I travel/go over to friends places. I am more comfortable just taking finesteride. Also would you want to see what the results with finesteride are before taking minoxidil?

Also i am worried about perverse incentives - If ashley and martin just recommend taking finesteride they wouldn't make any money so that is on my mind.

Would appreciate any advice and help.

OK, I will dive in.

So... NW 3.... hmm I would say... not quite, I would put your more like a 2. Of course they are in the business to MAKE MONEY!!!

All the research on Minox and Propecia is out there for you to read. Are you ready to shed in order to MAYBE get more hair growth?

Saw Palmetto... who knows. I would love to see a pic, posted here of someone who uses it and has regained a full head of hair.

LLLT. It's just another "electric box". They have been using stuff like this since the 1800s... Here in Israel they have clinics that will charge you $$$$ for the HOPE you will get your hair back.

Personally, I think a GOOD hairstylist is your best friend, these days. Your style emphasises your hairline. I would try something a bit shorter, combed a bit down/across (don't read comb over).

Well... it doesn't say "BaldBearded" for nothing.

I, started thinning at 16 (hairline only). I had no hairline by college, and did a comb over until I was 29, when I buzzed down to 0. Shaved at 30, never looked back. Now, at 53, when I do let my hair grow out... I am a N6, as the crown is gone.

What would I do? Take a pill that would cause me to loose an erection? No way! My sex life is to active for that.

My mantra... say no to Drugs, Rugs and Plugs!

Get your hair cut! Then re-valuate.

Then... go pamper yourself, get an AMAZING haircut... and see how it looks. Maybe you can "hang on" a bit longer before having to "do" anything.
