More false hope, or do we have something here?
Scientist find cure for baldness, again.

I'm sure this has already been talked about weeks to months ago. That grey hair thing definitely rings a bell. All welcome news though, another little piece of the puzzle maybe.Comment

In their research, which was published online this month in Genes & Development, the authors observed that the protein KROX20 turns on in skin cells that develop into the hair shaft, according to a news release. These hair precursor cells then generate the stem cell factor (SCF) protein, which researchers demonstrated is necessary for giving hair its color. In mice, researchers found that when they deleted the SCF gene in hair precursor cells, the rodents’ hair turned white. Similarly, when they deleted KROX20-producing cells, the mice became bald, according to the release.

THIS is what we've been waiting for!!!! As a medical professional and LONG time hair loss sufferer, THIS IS BIG. I expect we will FINALLY have a cure thanks to this within 3 years, God willing. I knew it was going to happen accidentally. This stuff is just too friggin complicated for people to "figure out" with research. It had to be a "holy shit, look what just happened!". I'm SUPER stoked.Comment

Here we go again. There will be a few more followup stories, and possibly some indication of researchers conducting more studies. Then we might even see a "in 5 more years" interview.
Then it will just fizzle away in no man's land like all the rest that we've seen over the past 20 years.
How one article can disappoint so many people. First, we didn't find a cure for that horrible nerve tumor, but guess what? We stumbled upon a cure for grey hair and hairloss that you'll never ever see.Comment

I understand your frustration, but at some point you need to accept the fact that they might have finally found a solution. Just have faith.Comment

This article was published in 2012: "Only 1 hair is seperating us from the cure for baldness!"
The same science review 5 years after: "Soon the end of white hair and baldness?"
But you also have these too:- Soon a new cure against baldness? in 2013
- A new cure against baldness? in 2011
- Cloning about to cure baldness? in 2005!
I had already said what I think about these continuous miracle discoveries
Hi all. To preface this, I'm a girl and I know most or all of you are men so hopefully it's okay if I post here. :p Like I'm sure many of you are, I'm incredibly frustrated with Histogen's lack of progress over the past couple of years. If funding is a problem, isn't there something we can do? Crowd fund them, tweetComment

I claim sometimes to be a healthcare professional and appreciate your enthusiasm......but since the 80's we have been teased by one finding after another. Maybe Japan will test this protein sooner than FDA would allow and it would do something.....I will wait.Comment
