    Hi Spex,

    Hope you're well.

This is nothing personal but heck the prices of all those options are insanely high...

I understand that the premium on the finasteride 5mg is for the fact that most GP's simply won't prescribe it 'off license' as at the 5mg dosage it's intended for BPH only, but regardless that's still a huge premium considering 14 months (when cut into 1mg pieces) of those 5mg tabs cost less than £10 to get when a prescription is issued.

Also you do realise that within a few clicks, one can literally mail order brand name Propecia 1mg from Boots online chemist for £98 for 3 months supply, right.

Considering they are straight from a GP, one would expect prices to be at least somewhat competitive. Not trying to be annoying but honestly just don't understand why. I assume there's a good reason?

    Take care chaps

    Hi,

Chevenowner, Yes a HT can be "successful" without medical therapy however the more hair you can keep the less hair /procedures needed. Along side this depends on patients goals.

TinTin, I asked Dr Edgar and the charges come down to the time and resources in solve to provide the patient the private service.

As i mention on my videos and site speak to your own GP first as much cheaper than a private prescription. Dr Edgar provides a good service however if not prepared to speak to GP or they will not prescribe it ( Common ). I don't believe Boots provide 5Mg Proscar or generic option which is much much cheaper option.

    Regards

Precisely! It's cheaper and easier to simply get all them meds from a UK chemist. Those prices just have zero justification unfortunately.

You would only ever get finasteride for MPB on a private prescription.

Dr edgar will have to write a private prescription (which doesn't actually cost him anything), then buy the drugs himself from a chemist, then sell them to you. Any profit he makes is the consultation fee.

To be honest, he's not really making an awful lot with the merk propecia, at least, because I know the free market price in a UK chemist is like £45 for 28 x 1mg tablets, when you buy it on a private prescription. The glaxo avodart does sound a little expensive though
