    Reisha Mushroom?

    Sorry, just curious if anyone knew about things like this...

    I think what you should bare in mind is that there are a lot of natural inhibitors which more often than not have an ingredient beta sitosterol. Some people use them because they experience less side effects.

    The trouble is they're too weak to be effective in most people. For the same reason, the side effects are less pronounced. However, the same side effects can and do present themselves in susceptible people.

    It's best to stick to finasteride or dutasteride and endure the side effects, because they normally go away after a while.

      Reishi Mushroom

      Actually, the active ingredient in Reishi Mushrooms is different than beta sitosterol and actually quite potent. Its called Ganoderma Lucidum and here is a link/article of recent studies:

        I am currently on beta sitosterol, 4x 120mg daily.
        I too found info online that reishi mushrooms inhibit alpha reductase - therefore DHT, its not cheap, 50 grams costs 8 dollars I think, but I believe I'll give that a try too. I still prefer anything natural that blocks DHT over risks of finasteride.
