Hi there, from the looks of the pictures it does look like you are "diffuse" balding , diffues balding is where the hair on the top of your head gets thinner rather than receding.
You're quite lucky as you're hairline and crown are strong so if you here your hair out I imagine you wouldn't notice the thin part in the middle, also in the 3rd picture where your hair is so sbirr you can't even tell at all.
You could keep taking the minoxodil but I'm in the boat as you, don't really want to be taking drugs as you never really know what they are doing to you, my advice would be start saving your money and get a hair transplant in a few years when it gets worse, hair transplants are getting better and cheaper every day and you probably won't need one for a good while jusgijf by your pics.
