can someone tell me a proper way to apply lipogaine?

I don't know if I'm doing it right... my hair is long and I put it on my crown first which is easy since that's a big area I need to work on but for the top/midsection, should I just part my hair down the middle and apply there so I'm not wasting a lot of product?
