Turkey Safety

Hello all,

I have a procedure scheduled with Dr. Koray Erdogan next month. I was wondering if anyone from the US/UK/other western countries has traveled to Turkey recently and can speak for the safety of Istanbul. I would assume it's mostly safe but I want to be sure.

I really don't want to have to go to another doctor, and next month is the only time for a long time that I'll be able to get work done.

Any advice appreciated.

The election is 16-Apr-17. Istanbul is a huge city, so the odds of any one-off events affecting you are small. But who knows, right? And bigger stuff...? I'm going soon, but if you're worried, why not wait to make your decision until the election result is known and see how the reactions are in the following days...
