    It's very well tolerable with no associated serious side effects.

    May it have some effect on hair and hair roots?

    Not directly. It does boost cellular glutathione levels but how your body uses it as well as any possible effect on follicular cells is subject to genetic regulation. There are millions of people with chronic inflammatory processes yet not afflicted with hair loss. Caution with the stuff as there is an association with cysteine renal stones. Uncommon but it does occur.
