Musings of a hair loss sufferer.....

Why is hair loss in existence?... Is it a part of evolutionary process?

Do any other species suffer from hereditary hair loss or is it just us? Dogs, for example, lose hair but not permanently.

Why do people feel the need to look at my hairline whilst speaking to me? Would they stare at a cripple's leg or at a burns victim's skin?

Would you feel more comfortable if ALL men went bald by 30? This would even the dating playing field anyway.

Why is it that doctors who tell you that "Its natural" and "It doesn't hurt so don't worry about it" ALWAYS have to have a full head of hair?

How come rock stars who abuse their bodies keep their hair?

Why is hair loss such a big joke to some people?

WHY CAN'T THE DEVELOPED WORLD FIX THIS GOD DAMN DISEASE AND ELIMINATE THE EMOTIONAL SUFFERING OF SO MANY PEOPLE.

    Well, I don't really know...but I will give this a shot...

Why is hair loss in existence?... Is it a part of evolutionary process?

Not sure. But I think humans mostly evolved and mated in the passed before they ever went bald. If you went bald 20 000 years ago you were probably lucky to have lived that long. We would not have evolved much, if at all in the last few centuries. Doesn't work that way. We just live longer because of science.

Do any other species suffer from hereditary hair loss or is it just us? Dogs, for example, lose hair but not permanently.

Apes also bald. Some species anyways.

Why do people feel the need to look at my hairline whilst speaking to me? Would they stare at a cripple's leg or at a burns victim's skin?

Because it stands out to them. Yes they would stare at a burn victims skin. My hairline doesn't stand out to me. But other people notice it. Because they aren't used to it that way.

Would you feel more comfortable if ALL men went bald by 30? This would even the dating playing field anyway.

Why not all men have hair. I think hair on my head always looked better on me than others. Without it however I look much much much much worse.

Why is it that doctors who tell you that "Its natural" and "It doesn't hurt so don't worry about it" ALWAYS have to have a full head of hair?

I don't agree with this one.

How come rock stars who abuse their bodies keep their hair?

You have selective memory. A lot of stars lose their hair.

Why is hair loss such a big joke to some people?

People are different. Some are idiots.

WHY CAN'T THE DEVELOPED WORLD FIX THIS GOD DAMN DISEASE AND ELIMINATE THE EMOTIONAL SUFFERING OF SO MANY PEOPLE.

I think Fixed by 35 mentioned his opinion on this by saying it is harder because hair is part of "an organ". I think I agree with that. Growing new hair is not an easy task. But it can definitely be done with todays science...
