Finasteride week 1

Hi,
I am lucky to still have my hairline as I am only 19, but i have started thinning at the temples. I have been on finasteride for a week prescribed by my doctor. Before starting i would shed thin hairs regularly, more than 100 a day but less than 200, and a hair or two would always come out when i ran my fingers through. after being on finasteride for a week nothing has really changed, still shedding thin hairs at the same rate. I have had no side effects as of yet. I will keep a weekly diary of the progress for those who are interested, but I had a few questions. Is the shedding I am experiencing going to slow now that I am taking finasteride? I was somewhat expecting to see some sort of a change whether it be more shedding, or no shedding at all after a week. But it's still pretty much the same. Just curious. How long does it take to start to see differences in how much hair is lost and how long does it take for the hair to start thickening? Thanks in advance
