    Default When nothing works

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience to me, basically when nothing works.

I have diffuse thinning, which is more prominent in the MPB areas but even the back and sides have started to thin.

I was on Fin for 12 months and been on Dut for two years without any benefit. Hair loss has carried on, probably at a faster rate (but not so fast as to be caused by the meds). Which has left me out of pocket too.

Didn't respond to Minoxidil nor Nizoral either.

Decided to see a Dermatologist (world renowned apparently) which hasn't bought up any answers and has cost me a lot of money. My DHT levels are low and my TSH was raised with T4 in range (so probably a transient rise).

The manner in which my sides and back are thinning there is no way I could get a decent result from the transplant, as it will just be sparse coverage with a bald patch. I think what is concerning me the most is what's happening to the sides and back.

I've seen a quite a few of the highly rated transplant surgeons over the last few years and they don't seem to grasp my situation, with a few even suggesting that they could take a strip from the back. That very area has now thinned out and doesn't look like stopping.

It's a shot in the dark but are there are any other options out there? PRP is the one option I haven't tried but I'm not sure if I am prepared to spend even more money on something I have yet to get any return on.

Even with the new "cures" on the horizon I'm not sure I'd be suitable as I have yet to respond to the traditional methods, leads me to believe that my hair is way too sensitive to DHT or there are other factors at play.

If Dutasteride, minox, and nizoral don't work, chances are you have a vitamin deficiency or a thyroid issue. You could try a minox max 15% that also has topical finasteride and azelaic acid in it, but I think it's unlikely your alopecia is androgenic.

    Thanks for replying.

Every specialist I have seen seems to think its Androgenic.

I know I'm a difficult case because I have or had a lot of hair, each shaft naturally fine. So, when they see it for the first time they don't see a problem other than thinning in MBP areas. But I have noticed it thinning everywhere and I think within the next 6 months it will become obvious.

I had a blood test which showed Vit D deficiency and a raised TSH but neither are sufficient to cause the kind of loss I have.

Try the minox max 15% with topical fin and azelaic acid. Also a cheap 128 diode laser cap and RU58841 are other alternative options.

    Might look in to it.

I'm in the UK so getting a hold of it might be an issue.
