Njs that is great to hear I am sure your grafts will grow in well and lets face it we all have to take a punt on our donor area and what might or might not happen to us in the future in the norwood scales and because of your age I think your risks are super low of ever getting to a norwood seven and I also think we judge our own hair to the extreme in the fact that we all think we have fine crappy hair when really we have average type hair or what not

I have thought about it long and hard doing the big procedure but the one pass idea appeals so much especially as I have to travel (from New Zealand). So Hasson and Wong really do appeal and seem to do great work

Dgman you should not let price affect you at all you should look at what Doctors you want to consult with and go and see them even if this takes months to consult over time. Go and visit and see real patients (most organise this for you). If you only need to thicken the front provided you do not have DUPA you will be a great candidate as this is the area all Doctors begin with... Fix the front and then proceed to the back if needed and if you have spare grafts to use. That is why I am thinking hard about Hasson and Wong... They continually get high graft counts and their work appears excellent so they cover large areas of thinning in one shot

Thanks for the kind words. Those big graft sessions sound appealing. My Dr said he would do the most possible in one session. Hard to imagine double the grafts as you would need double the doner area. I guess if your skin was really loose. I don't know how they could do that to me. Yes hopefully this will save me for a few years and I will fly to the far east or maybe France(i hear they get stuff fast) for histogens injections. Maybe the laser thing I got will help a little.

        dgman,

My Dr doesn't charge for consults. I also hear there are a few other guys in Fla that are really good so go on the site here and look up a few other names. You could always fly here and get Pistone to do it. He even guarantees his work. If the grafts don't grow he does the next one for free. although I don't know how that could happen unless they are placed incorrectly. I do have one patient that went back to him and complained the consultant said he was going to have more coverage. When he didn't get the expected results, Dr Pistone did the next ht free of charge.

You can listen to snippets of his show on thebaldtruth.com

He does a couple of shows via webcam which are set times (you will get it off the site sorry I cannot remember the times or days but he does not or is not on air all the time)

NJS you will have to keep us up to date... Do you have a blog created on the hair transplant network so we can follow your progress. Again with your age I really do not think you have alot of worry because end of the day once guys are in their later fifties and into sixties thin hair is quite common and you do not see full heads of hair on older gentlemen so I think you are in better shape then 99% of us on here

I hope you are right when you say I am in better shape than most here, but looking in the mirror today it doesn't feel that way. I have shed a lot of hair I had, and now have to wait 5 more months( at least ) or a year until I see the real results of my ht. Time goes quickly but it seems far off today. Like it says on my Dr Pistones site.....the most painful part of a ht is waiting for the hair to grow in.

I will try to keep you up to date with my thoughts and thanks for the interest. If you go to London you will have to let us know how it goes. Sucks there is no one where you are.

I think most people from the forum listen online. He’s on Tuesdays at 10pm Eastern and on Sunday’s a 8pm Eastern. You can watch or listen at www.thebaldtruth.com.

I have few remaining pleasures in life. These include reading, good food and alcohol (in moderation of course!).

The option facing me is either be chubby and bald, or be fit and bald. So, basically the choice is, well, say Homer Simpson or Steve Jobs! I'm really not bothered either way. Both are as depressing as the other.

If I choose to be Homer Simpson, I can retain my current lifestyle and keep eeking out the remaining pleasures of life.

If I choose Steve Jobs, I give up the pleasures of life to do something I hate (going to the gym).

Besides the fact that a gym lifestyle will make me more miserable, I won't get any positive return from it at all. In fact, if I choose the Homer option, I'm basically living the same life I did before hair loss, so I'm not a prisoner of it. I'm a victim, certainly, in so far as I'm involuntarily discriminated against for it, but I'm still in control.

In contrast, if I take the Steve option, then I become a prisoner of my baldness. Not only will it steal my life chances away, it will actually steal hours from my life in the gym and it'll even steal the nice food off my plate and the wine out of my glass!
I agree baldness sucks and it really changes your life dramatically.

You really LOSE your image. It's GONE. You have to start being someone else.

To top it off....it is an UGLY someone else. People have no respect for bald people, ugly people, fat people.

                  eh. what a disaster

Wow, some of you guys are hit pretty hard. I guess I am lucky in that most never notice mt hair issues. I also can afford to get the ht without killing myself financially.

I guess the bottom line is we are all responsible for our own happiness and we have to make the best of what you can.

My personal take on looks is that you have to be in as best shape you can manage. I have been exercising regularly since I was a kid and now at almost 50 I am in pretty good shape. I have a 31 inch waist and a 43 inch chest and still have a six pack. As far as women and being attractive is concerned, I think/hope they do notice if you are in good shape and take care of yourself. This, a good personality and sense of humor go a really long way with girls.

Just my opinion. Hope I don't come off as being too shallow. Try to cheer up guys.

I'll cheer up either when a cure comes out or I get a terminal illness. All I want to know is how much longer I have to put up with this crap.

Hair loss solution by surgical hair transplant

It is critical to choose an appropriate physician to perform your hair transplant surgery. All of the today’s advanced techniques of hair transplant have to be performed by highly qualified and skilled physicians with a comprehensive experience in hair transplantation. A good doctor will do a great job, but if you will fall into the hands of a bad practitioner, you will have to treat your “successful surgery” consequences till the end of your days.

You are thinking about the GOOD looking guy without hair and the bad looking guy with hair.

                          Take the same guy.

In once instance you take away all his hair or some of it whatever you want.

In the next you rather make him fat or slightly fat, whatever.

The bald dude is still way less attractive than the fat guy. Truth of the matter is there is a lot more room for a belly than there is for a receding hair line. I feel this is very true.

Sure if you have a total fatass he won't get far. But you know, baldness is still much less attractive than just "being out of shape".

And for what it's worth I am in extremely good shape...at least I think so.
I look good bald! No wish to get hair!

I dont think gaining a bunch of muscles is good for you regardless of your percent body fat or how good some people think it looks. Carrying more weight regardless of what its made of is not a good thing in my opinion much better to focus cardio and be skinny looking like say girls do.
Anyways its stupid pointing out good looking bald guys because there are some I mean there are never 100 percent rules to this kind of stuff some girls prefer bald guys. In general the majority though hair is better why else would we all be here talking about it if it didnt matter at all?

I used to bulk up but I found it to be unhealthy cause i had to do more cardio or i always felt out of breath when i excercise. I felt healthier when i slimmed down and just weight lifted for health reasons

You can still be attractive to females when you go bald, and pull quite a bit. That's a fact. Attracting ladies is not about being cute, it's just a part of the puzzle like being tall to be a good baskeball player. At a lower lever a smaller guy with athletic ability skills and drive will be better on the court any day of the week than a slow uncoordinated lanky guy. If you are a perfectionnist and want to shoot for the stars sure it's better to be over 6'8 to play in the NBA or to be a beautiful man to pull like a machine.

But you will never be beautiful again, and even if looks are only a part of the attraction formula, looking in the mirror to see your ugly reflection is heartbreaking. Sure some ladies don't mind a bald guy just like some of us don't mind a chubby chick and some girls will be turned off just like a minority of us will be turned off by a girl with small boobs.

But no longer feeling beautiful and never being able to admire your own reflection or to be happy about your pictures is a real trauma.

I chose to give up propecia. I feel like my propecia dillemma was the perfect representation of the battle between my masculine side(wanting to **** and enjoy sex, not giving a **** about my looks) and my feminine side(loving my own reflection, wanting to be considered beautiful, being able to style my appearance)

I recently chose to give up. My masculine side won. But it still hurts.

There are excellent reasons to let go. But please, don't give us this bullshit about being a chrome dome making you more beautiful just because you can go to the gym and get a fake tan. There are many of those guys with this type of appearance in clubs and they look like creepy steroid heads. It's such a cliché, they often have those ridiculous tribal tatoos which are the male equivalent of a tramp stamp. I am really fit, but I'm not the Vin Diesel wannabe type, I'd rather wear a hat. Oh and newsflash: Vin Diesel is incredibly ugly. Statham is a really good looking guy but with hair he'd be incredibly stunning.

You can also go to the gym with a lush haid of hair and of course being muscular is better. But having no hair= being ugly.
