Had my hair transplant today with dr. Jerry cooley

Flew in from Los Angeles to Charlotte, NC on Tuesday
Started my day early to arrive at Dr. Cooley's office at 7 am
Very nice offices in a very modern hospital and medical complex.
Had a pre surgery consult with Dr. Cooley he reviewed my hair loss my concerns
took photos and designed my hairline
The planned proceduce was no shave 2500 grafts FUT, there were extra grafts so the total was about 2900 grafts from my thinning hairline to about mid scalp.

During the strip harvest i fell asleep and felt nothing
When i woke they offered me lunch

They give you a list of 300 movies to choose from, i couldn't focus so i just chose non stop Seinfeld seasons.

They prepared my recipient area as at least 6 people were dissecting the strip into grafts.
i was only sore 2 times for a short period what the numbing wore off and then they gave me shots. Honestly, going to the dentist for a filling is more painful than my procedure.

The procedure was well orchestrated by Dr. Cooley and his staff and they work very well together. Dr. Cooley is extremely professional and personable in his manner.
My day ended around 7 pm.
i would say the hardest thing is keeping your mind occupied by being entertained from movies. I would rather just fall asleep.

No pain and its now 9 pm. My head does not look as bad as i would have expected.
Tomorrow i return to the office for a cleaning
i will post photos before and after and progress soon

Congratulations man. Happy to hear of a positive, successful experience. With the right amount of research and choosing a quality surgeon (like Dr. Cooley), and from hearing positive testimonials like this, we can hopefully keep people from making rash decisions and choosing inexperienced surgeons who don't deliver consistent, quality results. Looking forward to seeing your photos and seeing your results.

From my experience, I'd also like to add that in a lot of ways, the next several months are the hardest part as you patiently wait for the results to come in. So mentally prepare yourself for that and try not to analyze your hair every day in the meantime. You might drive yourself crazy otherwise. Happy growing!
