hair transplant 20 years old
Hey Guys,
Since I've been already balding for 4 years now and it keeps bothering me deeply, I thought about solute this problem by getting a hair transplant. Some people I talked to told me that it's definetely too young to get a hair transplant with 20 and they advised me to keep waiting. What you guys think? 20 years too young in general?
About me: I've been balding since I was about 16. Then, when I was 17, I started using Minoxidl and Propecia. So nothing really changed within the last 3 years, but it also doesn't really improve. My father is a NW5, my grandpapas suffered from baldness in a slight way, they were like nw2's. I would be really grateful for any recommendations. Is there any way of uploading pictures here?
You may not have noticed, but english isn't my first language hahaha

Hi ,
Let me first say that I feel you pain and I am in the same boat as you . I started losing my hair when I was 17 (22 now) , I m a diffuse thinner but my pattern is Nw6-7 and been on Minoxidil for 4 years now . The first two years it certainly slowed down the progression and then lost all of its effectiveness for me . If your treatments are working , you are sure that you have stabilized your loss and maintaining then I would recommend doing surgery (but you have to be sure that you are maintaining and not losing anymore) . Just remember that Propecia is a must and I would recommend taking a look at Avodart(dutasteride) .

It's great that you're on propecia. (Have you looked into Proscar btw? It's the 5mg version you cut up into 1/4ths). It's definitely too early, but since you're on meds, by the time you reach your mid 20s, you might be a good candidate, so I would urge you to wait a few years. Let the pattern develop, earn and save some money (you'll need it for this!), and spend some time familiarizing yourself with clinics.

You really need to educate yourself about the nature of hair loss. With whatever goals you have, try non-surgical remedys like platelet-rich plasma too.
