    Transplant without Finasteride / Propecia

I have always kept a very natural lifestyle and am not interested in taking any medication in perpetuity. I'm also concerned with potential sexual side effects to the point I've ruled out taking it. I'm getting a 1600 graft FUE session next month and will take minoxidil afterward to ensure the new grafts take hold and to minimize shock loss. But I expect to stop taking in after about 6 months, and never Finasteride / Propecia.

Has anybody done this? And how did it affect your outcome.

    Many thanks.

IMHO you do not HAVE to take meds after HT.

Some on this board will say that this is heresy, but the truth is that many do not use meds after HT. In truth, meds are probably a good idea after HT if you can/want to take them. Some people do the big three, some parts of the big three, and some people none at all. IMHO, if you are a high NW stage you need the meds less as you have mostly lost what you are going to lose. Meds may be more beneficial to those with earlier NW stages to keep the hair they had going into the procedure, reduce shock loss, etc.

Thanks a lot, Driver. Is there a notable long-term benefit to taking finasteride immediately before or after the surgery? I'd be willing to do that for an isolated period. Just not for the rest of my life.

Ha, yeah, I noticed that too, Driver. Great minds thing (exactly) alike?

I was basically trying to ascertain whether it was completely foolish to get FUE with no plans to take propecia long-term. Will it help if I do before any after my surgery un a couple weeks?

I think you're fine to do it or not. It's up to you. None of this stuff is carved in stone.
