    Default Hairloss at 17

    Hi everyone

I'm a 17 year old male and I've been experiencing severe hair loss for the past few months, which has been worrying me a lot. I lose roughly about 10-15 strands of hair in the shower everyday and while combing, I lose about 2-5 strands per stroke. Recently I started noticing a bit of thinning of my hair in the parting area and I'm concerned. I do have a family history of balding (my father) but he started losing his hair around his 30s and at my age he had a head full of hair.

Please check the attached pics and let me know if it really is a cause of concern. I'm really worried.

    Thanks to all in advance.

    -the links don't work.
-this is definitely not the right section of the forum to talk about this.
-my dad had full head of hair all the way to his mid 30, i was nw2 by 18, and nw4 by 25.
shit happen. that fact that your siblings or father cept their hair late doesn't mean you will.

personally, i knew i was balding when i was 17 and it didn't worry me that much, it started to get ugly in when i was about 23, it wasn't the "ok" temple balding, it was crown balding, its not attractive and it will definitely have a noticeable negative impact on your life.

that being said, you should move to "coping with hairloss" section.

The links do not work. Pictures do not always tell what's going on. If you beleive your thinning you probably are, and regardless of any advice you get here you should get a couple of opinions from doctors specializing in hair loss. The sooner you get your situation accessed the better.

Am I the only one who gets a little triggered when kids post in this section just to make sure they get their answer ASAP?

Hey bro! So the good news is it's not that bad yet. Keep in mind, even though you notice it. No one else does. But in a year or so, I suggest you check with a Doc and look into taking propecia (or the generic version). That will slow things down nicely.

And a few more years down the line you can look into FUE surgery. There's no scarring and all positive results if you pick the right Doc. It's real man, because I'm walking proof !

    Good luck!
