You should definitely do both, but do Finasteride with Minoxidil. If you use Latanoprost or Minoxidil, you will probably see better results with an anti androgen.
If you are just starting, it is STUPID, in my opinion, not to try everything you can.

You should take Rogaine and Finasteride. Take whatever you can to save your hair.
When people wait, the window closes. At some point, it will be too late, and you won't be
able to regrow your hair back.

i would try both definitely but i am 15 and finasteride could be a problem. Money is also an issue since i am dependent on parents money and they think i should deal with it

As a physician (though one not in a field remotely related to dermatology or plastic surgery), I think that OP is very foolish to go to dutasteride with the hair he has in that photo, assuming the front of his scalp has comparable density. Dutasteride has not been well studied as a tx for hair loss (have its long-term adverse effects been studied at all?). I asked a dermatologist a couple of years ago about starting Dut because I felt that the finasteride wasn't cutting it anymore, and he persuaded me - at just 26, when balding is TRULY traumatic - that Dut would be an ill-advised route to take.
For crying out loud, just get a mini FUE procedure. About 150 grafts would make the area of concern (which seems little more than a slowly thinning whorl) look pristine.

Um....the OP has had numerous (10+ If I remember correctly) hair transplants. He works for several hair transplant doctors so he probably talked to them before starting. You are right though, we do not know the long term effects of dut.

Dr Representative
Thanks for the concern but I'm confident in my experienced opinion.
Cheers

Spex,
I'm also a long time finasteride user (12+ years), 2 years ago, I switched to Dutasteride, and since then my frontal area has thinned a lot. The inital shedding has past now, and the shedded hairs seem to slowly growing back, but they grow very slowly. With all the research I have done, dutasteride should be better than finasteride, but after 2+ years of taking dutasteride, I don't see it better than finasteride. I'm really concerned with the frontal area getting not better.
I regret switching, but since I've switched already, I'm not going back just now. I'm still taking dutasteride, and thinking of giving it another year or so.
What is your experience of the switch? Do you notice frontal hair shedding?
