How many grafts do you recommend. Pictures included!

Hello All,

I had a FUT with 1200 grafts back when I was 25 and the results came out about average with Dr. Meshkin. I regret to say that i didn't start taking propecia until recently (I'm now 31) and so since then I've lost some of my native hair.

I'm researching doctors in the SOCAL area and I've decided to get another strip since I already have the scar and want to know how many grafts I should get to dense pack the front.

So far I've met with Dr. Mohebi who I love but he's out of my budget, Dr. Meshkin again who recommended no more than 2,000 grafts, and another doctor who I wont' name but just rubbed me the wrong way.

Personally I think I can use about 3,000 to get the results in the hairline I am yearning for, but

Thats a large area- but 2000 will give you good coverage, and you need to realize that with how its progressed, you're likely to lose more. Doctors WILL do what you want- but exhausting your donor supply by 1/2 is not the way to go if you just want frame your face; you're best off going 2000 ish as the doctor reccomended and going for a 2nd HT for the miniscule things remaining if they still bother you.

Edit: He's also a doctor and does this for thousands of patients. My doctor did the same and pushed me away from 3500 to 2500- but the reasoning was sound, theres nothing he gains from doing more or less.
