    Default Hair transplant reversal

    Hi

Sorry, this is repeated thread, i put it in wrong place
    Hair transplant reversal

I know i talked about that before and maybe million times,

    I need your opinions

I m still waiting to have the chance to start removing the hair,

I m now 15 months and the reasons that makes me choose this path are:

    - The skin is so disturbed even i have hair now, but the skin does not look right always is bring attention people when there is powerfull lighting (persist redness, small irrigularities, bumps or depression under skin, dirty look) but no big scars

    - There is always pain sensation, burnening sensation or pin and needle, that drives me crazy for 15 months i cannot go out or do any phyiscal activity without feeling pain on my receipient area, it restricts mylife and ruin it totally, i live in prison always indoors, i tried many meds and asked many dermatologists no solutions so far, most probably the pain is related to the nerves that are linked to hair follicles, or there is tough pressures on the scalp nerves at time of move or walk ( when i m home, there is no pain at all, once i m outside, the scalp start swallow and pain start after 30 minutes)

    - i m nw6 now and have hairline of nw0 without temple points, if i continue the hair transplants i need minimum 10 k grafts to look ok assuming no further baldness also ( the original doctor put most of the hair on the hairline so it will give in front the illusion of hair, but it is Comb over and wheb the hair is wet ot there is wind, it will look ridicilus, also i cannot cut my hair short due to the hair destribution and the shape of hairline)

    - The transplant hair does not look natural as the hair shaft are so thick for hairline and there are some multiple grafts there

Methods that i found to remove the hair are
    - laser
    - electrolysis
    - fue punch out

I m choosing fue punch out as it might give more chance for smoother skin and the hair can be reused get it back to donor area to cover the white dots

I m thinking to try small spot at least to raise the hairline from temple side and then watch what it will be happen and how the healing will be, there is like small ridging anyway at the hairline that should be removed

Doctors that i believe they can help me in these are belgium doctors, so i will travel there to make some real consultations and maybe start doing something

After checking other cases, there was no much scarring after removal and even for the pluggy ones, mine are so small ( even smaller than acne level) so maybe using, 0.7 mm will not leave anything or even laser can be ok

My target: enhance the skin, retrieve the normal feeling, so i can go out or do sport without feeling pain and rid off of this hairline and have nw5 or 6 look ( thinnnig hair and not perfect hairline) So i can cut my hair short

I m still consulting with local doctors, most of them are againt removals as they do not know how the skin will react might be ok and might not

Belgium doctors they did such cases before and they were able to retrieve 80% at least of the original status, of couse each case is different

My scalp status now is 70% comparing to normal scalp, so after removal, there is a chance of better enhancement

If everything goes well, i might need 2 sessions to remove most of the multiple grafts and i might need a resurfacing session for the skin and may not

Some people said, i should have another sugery and it will be fine, but how? I might end up worse ot maybe i will be ok for 3 or 5 years and then the same cycle repeat again, also any other surgery will make the donor area more thin, at least the current situation there no thinnig yet and the hair look thick in donor area

Also i m still against because of the skin status, i cannot compromise the healthy skin aanymore for hair,

i wish if i know this trade off before doing the hair transplant, but most of the peope that i asked before, they told me there will be nothing on receipient area and i listen to them and i end up with ugly scalp and artifical hairline

I wish if i can feel normal again and remove this from my life

    Hi Sam

I did a hair transplant and know how you feel. I regret having done the procedure immensely. What has helped me was a website called slybaldguys. Several people there had bad ht experiences and encouraged me to buzz my hair off, which I did. Feel so much freer and happier now. It's not what I wanted when I went out to get a hair transplant 4 years ago. But having a shaven hair style is better than showing the thin fake transplanted hairline. In the future I would very much like my transplanted hair to be removed, but for now I just buzz it short. I do t mind the fue scars on my back of head. How are you getting on?

I hate hearing of situations like this and hope you're able to achieve an outcome that you're happy with.

I've noticed a lot of unhappy patients on this forum, and it's something that is far and away much more common here than on another prominent forum I frequent... And I don't know why that is, except that the other forum really places the majority of their focus on the importance of vetting surgeons and doing tons of solid research before making a decision. I can't speak to the amount of research you did (and maybe it was very thorough and your situation isn't common with this surgeon) but I will say that you should really make sure you're incredibly confident with the doctor you choose to address the current issue. I would hate to see you end up in an even worse situation.

Getting a hair transplant (or any medical procedure) comes with risks... But negative results should be rare and should be the exception if only people were properly vetting their surgeons. There are a lot of ethical, world class surgeons out there - but unfortunately there are way more doctors out there willing to do anything to get a patient and their money who really have no idea what they're doing.

I hope this works out for you.

Please let me know how the transplant reversal turns out. I am interested in doing the same. Had two surgeries when I was 24 and now at 52 I would like to put the plugs back into the scar but I am worried how the skin on my forehead would turn out. Found a doctor who said he could do it but people would be able to tell I had work done. This is pretty vague.

    Hi dmeyer

I am gonna use laser to remove transplanted hair. Contact some specialists in the field. Can I ask, how has your life been affected by the hts u did at such young age?

I don't want to carry this regret forever.

Sadly Sam doesn't seem to be posting here any more.

I have had mixed feelings about it over the years. At first it have me SOME increase in confidence. I got married and have 3 kids now. However, as I aged I grew to regret it because I lost surrounding hair and I don't feel it looks as natural. Surgeons just want to sign me up for MORE surgeries. However, I just want out of the business as I am tired of worrying about hair and I would look fine without it on top.

why not do FUE punch out and put it back in the scar? When are you having it done?

The punchout leads to more scarring. I want laser. I don't have fut scar, did fue and don't mind scarring I have at back of head.

Thanx for reply. I hated my transplant since day 1.

Dear Anonymous38, I am told they can remove the transplanted hair via punch and suture it well enough that you will not have visible scarring. That is why I would like to visit Dr. Wolfeld at Bernstein medical for a consultation. My transplant was done in 91 and the hairs were placed too deep giving a pitting appearance. I will try to go in the next 60 days. Can I ask when and where you had your surgery?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I had my transplant in 2014. Fue, done in turkey with Dr ozogulu. Biggest mistake of my life. One could say the transplant was a success but I have too low hairline. i think if I get laser hair removal that would be okay for me. I don't have much scarring at the transplanted area. The fue scars dont bother me much. I've been in touch with laser hair removal specialists.

    I am in London uk

Default Age at time of HT

Hello Anonymous 38, can I ask at what age you had the transplant done? I hear it is common to get the hairline wrong when doing at a young age.
