19 YO - Hairloss started at 17 ; Should I ask for Avodart?
19 YO male here. I've had a receding hairline since my sophomore year of high school - people point it out and even my father has in the past. My cousin on my mothers side also started losing hair around the same age I did ; he's progressed to Norwood 3-4 area. I'm scared that's the same same fate I'll have.
I made an appt. with my doctor to see about my options. Should I ask about taking Avodart?
Thanks.

Try propecia first. It's a milder drug but it works the same way as avodart does and it might be all that's necessary for you.

No!!! You should try finasteride first. If it doesn't work then you only have the dutasteride to treat MPB. If you are 25 years or above you might consider hair transplant.

Highly recommend Propecia, wish I'd started sooner. It's been working great for me, plus I got procedure so yay!! I don't look like I'm balding anymore. Eventually down the line I'd suggest the same. Good luck!
