ABHRS - “ In order for the board to mean something, we have to stand for something.”
Currently, the field of hair transplant surgery has no approved medical specialty board sanctioned or certification process governed by The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), and while the American Hair Loss Association(AHLA) recognizes that the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) can be an asset to hair transplant consumers when doing their research, the board’s influence on consumer protection is practically nonexistent. Spencer Kobren speaks with current President of the ABHRS, and accepted IAHRS member Michael W. Vories, M.D., about the current self imposed limitations of the ABHRS and how to improve their relevance and importance in the field.
Bravo Dr. Vories for being so candid during this interview!
