I quit the drug about a month ago, and I am having some trouble 'down there' that match up with the sort of problems that some of the guys over on propeciahelp are having. I hate to scaremunger, but it seems like a dangerous drug in my case, although I'm not sure, maybe I need to give it a few more months and the pains and lack of feeling will go away.

If there are hairloss specialists on here saying how many patients they have had with no problems, to be honest that's pretty reassuring, infact it makes me want to keep trying but I daren't, health should always come first.

I would say the most alarming thing with propecia is that Merck changed there statement saying that it can cause erectile dysfunction.

I guess all I tend to see is people who have had side affects, not to many people are even posting here to say they are not having sides. I would hate to do something damaging to my system without having all the facts.

    Default Avodart

I take one pill per day .5 mg.....I have friends that take more....2 a day but I just take one.

I have never had any erectile dysfunction. Maybe I have been lucky! Anyway, I have also heard that propecia losses some of its potentcy after taking it for 4-6 years. Anyway, to each his own. I respect those who choose not to take it for whatever reason. However, I also like to share my experience because not too many people know about this and I see avodart as a miracle drug.

One other thought.....the only doctors who have ever hesitated to write me an avodart prescription have been hair transplant doctors. I DO NOT THINK ALL HT DOCS ARE LIKE THIS BUT THIS IS THE CONCLUSION I CAME TO AS A RESULT OF THE OBSERVATIONS I MADE BASED ON OTHER HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTICS ETC. THAT THESE DOCS TRIED...... PERSONALLY, I SUSPECT THAT THESE DOCS DO NOT WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT AVODART BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT YOU WILL NOT BE COMING BACK FOR MORE SURGERY AS FAST.....AGAIN, I DO NOT THINK ALL HT DOCS ARE LIKE THIS BUT IT WOULD BE FOOLISH TO THINK THAT SOME ARE NOT GREEDY ENOUGH TO TELL YOU AVODART IS BAD BECAUSE THEY KNOW IT WILL NOT BE FINANCIALLY ADVANTAGEOUS IN THE LONG RUN FOR THEM.....JUST A THOUGHT. A regular doc will not think anything of it. As long as they know about it and how it works etc. because they don't have anything to lose.

    peace,
