ARTAS FUE - A Candid Discussion
Spencer Kobren and IAHRS accepted member Gregory Turowski MD, PhD, continue their discussion about some of the misinformation being disseminated concerning the potential limitations of ARTAS assisted FUE. This important conversation provides a candid look into how some practices and physicians in the field might be making decisions on how your surgery is performed.
Please note, that IAHRS members are required to provide patients with medically and ethically sound recommendations and that there are legitimate reasons why the ARTAS robot might not be suitable in specific cases.

Incredibly informative. It does seem like on average many of the ARTAS hair transplants that are being shown use many less grafts than the average hair transplant that we see on the forums. I was wondering myself why that was. I went to the ARTAS website, which is not very informative and strange to navigate to look at some results and all you see are what look like small procedures with no details or graft counts. Not very helpful.

So then I guess the question would be, what would be the real reasons for a doctor to not use the artas for the entire hair transplant now that these problems have been solved? Is it possible to tell if a person is not the best candidate for the artas during a consultation and if he is a good candidate, should it be told to the person ahead of time that the doctor might have to switch to manual during the transplant if they believe it is needed to get the best results? At least this way, people will be fully informed.
