25 years old and aggresive hair loss

I started losing my hair since I was 16, I decided to shaved my head when I was 20 because I couldn't hide it anymore and I decided to deal with it. Now I'm 25 year old and I have a big bald area in my top, sides and neck area are also thinning. I think that maybe I'm suffering from DUPA + AGA, a visit to a dermatologist only revealed that I have AGA, no microscopes or seeing the density of my hair.

When I started with this I didn't have money to start a treatment, now I want to do something about my hair loss, I'm realistic and I know that maybe I'm really far gone. I made an online consultation with one of the top surgeons of my country(Spain), he said that I'm not a good candidate for a hair transplant because my donor area is depleted and they can't extract folicular units in order to do a transplant. So it's really frustrating and depressing don't being able to do anything.

I'm thinking about starting medical treatment and having a second opinion. Hair loss is having a great impact in my life and I want to do something about it.

All advice is welcome, also it would like to know your opinion about what type of hair loss I have. My grandfather on my mothers side was the only bald man in the family and he didn't have their sides or neck thinned.

Really hard to say if it's even worth a try.

But you could get extremely lucky and see some improvements with propecia and rogaine, so you might try those two (for at least 6 months, better a year and a half or 2).

      Hey,

No one relates better than me. Started losing close to same age. Proud to say I got it done at 25, and am about to be 27 and don't look like I'm going bald. :-)

I say go for it! There's no reason why you can't fix problem if you have enough donor hair. You even have donor hair available from beard. I'd suggest you consult with my physician Dr. Mohebi who's apart of the board for FUE.

Let me know if you have any question for me as well.
