hi, i am 20, indian and have a good head of dense hair. i used to sport a pony which i usually wore pretty tight. Due to traction alopecia my hairline got shifted back by about 0.5 cm. the rest of the hair on my head is still pretty dense. The problem is a lower hairline looked really good on me, so i decided to think about a hair transplant. But after some research i found out that if transplant is done in an around a dense set of natural hair, a possibility of permanent shock loss is there which i am terrified of. Another question is if there is any way by which more transplanted hair dont fall out post op, i have heard that in 5% of cases transplanted hair doesnt fall out, hence the person saves upto 3 months of hair growth. this is very important for me since i would have to change my hairstyle for the months the transplanted hair dont grow properly. Also if how much dense hair can be achieved, there is no problem of amount of donor hair, can the transplanted hair be as dense as the natural hair. Another question is if i went for fue, will i ever be able to wear my hair really short. Please give your views and thanks a lottt in advance.

It’s difficult to judge how much hair loss you really have from the picture you uploaded, but from how you described your situation, hair transplantation might be an option for you. The thing is if you have extremely dense hair behind the newly transplanted hair it might not be cosmetically satisfactory for you. You will have some downtime and it will take at least 6 months to see good growth. FUE will allow you to wear your hair shorter and might be a good option in your situation.
