I would say that out of the surgeons who you are looking at Ziering and Dauer are probably your best bets locally. I think Dauer is doing much more FUE than many of the surgeons in LA so if that’s what you want then he might be the one to consider. I know Dr. Ziering does robotic FUE so I’m not sure why he would not recommend that unless you are not a candidate for FUE, which I think most people actually are. You just have to go with your gut and see if you can speak to patients who had the surgery with the doctor you choose before doing it.

    Thank you for your reply
my hairline is receding and thinning a bit on top
i have been told i have great donor hair
    Ziering recommended strip
AlviArmani strictly does FUE, their photos and videos look great - but the affiliation with their canada office makes them suspect
I'm looking into a few out of state surgeons in minneapolis, chicago, and phoenix to try to get away from the LA internet hype

I recently met with Marc Dauer. He recommended Fue 1500 grafts, was very informative and said he does all the harvesting himself.

I also met with Ken Williams in Orange County. Great insight. Came off as very knowledgeable also claims to do all of the harvesting himself.

One last appointment with Hasson-Wong next month and I'll decide what I'm gonna do.

Let us know what you think of Dauer.

I don't work with Dr. Dauer but I like his style.

Regarding Dr. Baubec, at this point I don't think it is even relevant to associate him with any part of the former Canadian operations. It is a completely different entity at this point and only shares the name.

Ask the HW rep (Mike) to introduce you to patients. He's got them in LA, so they should be fairly simple to meet up with. Dr. Wong was my doctor and I feel he did a stellar job for me while I was working for him (FUSS, not FUE).

I would not even put Dr. Williams in the same category as Dr. Dauer or Dr. Ziering. He’s more of a cosmetic surgeon who does all sorts of cosmetic surgery and botox, liposuction and all of that. Stick with doctors who concentrate on hair transplants.

I would probably take Joe Tillman’s advice over almost anyone else who posts on any forum, so if he says Baubec is ok, he know’s what he is talking about.

Dr. Shapiro's reputation automatically means he should at least be considered by most people. Because I've spent time in his clinic and have personally observed his protocols and skills I can personally vouch for him to the point that I can say I'd have surgery with him myself.

I really appreciate your post but I need to be clear. I'm not saying Dr. Baubec is ok because I do not know one way or the other. I simply wanted to point out the logic in how one should view him, his clinic, and the actions of the former medical director in the Canadian office. From a distance, he looks good as a standalone doctor, but for me it doesn't go any further than that because I have no experience with the man short of a few pleasant personal notes. I hope this is clear and thank you again for your comments
