    Could Transplantation Help Me (Pic)

My thinning pattern seems to me to indicate Norwood 5 or 6, maybe with high sides? I am quite willing to take fin. What do you guys think?

The thinning areas definitely have at times, yes. Been on fin and/or dut since Nov. 2015 and haven't had much itch since then.

Anyone else? Really would value people's opinions. I'm 37. Feel like I'm probably a diffuse patterned thinner but also with temple recession and some nape balding.

You're my age and your hair is in far better shape than mine.

I'd say go for propecia and if the medication works for you, you'll slow down or stop your hair loss for a long time. Believe me, you'll be very happy if your hair looks like this at 47 or 57.

You can even use those fibers like topik or caboki to get more density on top (don't overdo it with those), or maybe dermmatch which sticks to the hair longer than the fibers.

Regarding the hair transplant - you better go to a IAHRS recommended surgeon for a consultation. He'll know what's best for you.

Thanks man. Anyone have an opinion on my Norwood destiny based on this pic. I feel like I'm a diffuse thinner but I have recession and nape thinning too. Anyone have an opinion?

Are you taking fin? When did you start thinning and have you slowed down? Would you or have you gotten a transplant?

Where are you located? I think it would definitely be beneficial to you so set up an appointment with an IAHRS doctor and get their opinion after an in-person consultation. They'll be able to do a full evaluation regarding your family history, medication, miniaturization testing to help predict future loss, etc. Your situation is on the more complicated side, but it doesn't mean you won't have options.

Thanks. I'm in Illinois. Why do you say it looks more complicated?

I'm currently on DUT 0.5mg ed (for about two months). I was on propecia for the last 9 years or so. Propecia definitely slowed down my hair loss (didn't stop it completely), but I wish I would take it when I was showing early signs of hair loss .. at about 24, 25.. - by 28 it was a bit too late for me.

I would have a HT, but I'm still waiting to see how DUT works (at least 6 months) and if some new treatements will come out in the next 5 years - that would also be great.

Primarily because you describe yourself as a diffuse thinner. These cases are a bit more complicated and not as straightforward as one like mine, for example. My hair loss was pretty isolated to my hairline, and based on my family history and projected hair loss from miniaturization evaluations, I may not have to worry too much about the top and crown. (Fingers crossed). For this reason, I think it's very important that you research some of the top IAHRS surgeons and get quite a bit of feedback so that you can make the most well informed decision possible. They'll need to check your donor density, your projected hair loss, talk about your family history, medication, etc.
