Minoxidil Question

Hey, I am about to start using rogaine (5%) and one thing worries me is when is the shedding phase. The worry is when I will put this on my hair for couple of months and then stop, will my original hairs that were pre-minox fall out and the balding will be much worse? or will my original hairs re-grow?

My 2nd Question is, what if I use minox only on my hairline, which is bald that has no hairs, will I still get the shedding phase or will it be fine, since I don't have any hair on my hairline?
