Long story short, HST is just a very expensive FUE. They claim they can regrow hair, by splitting follicles where one part of the follicle is supposed to remain in donor and regrow hair. However:
    * On close-up photo's of the follicles we've seen that HASCI just extracts the whole follicle, leaving nothing behind to regenerate. Exactly like a FUE.
    * Dutch celebs like Dean Saunders had a depleted donor just after 3 HST's and Dean is now doing body hair tranplants
    * We've been (and still are) analysing a case on this board. We've counted lost hairs in donor, this amounted to about 1.4 hair/follicle lost in donor, which seems to be also the amount of hair people receive in their recipient in general with HASCI surgeries. In other words, no increase in hair at all (although we still need to analyse recipient to be really 100% sure of course).
    * In general the cosmetic results of HASCI are worse than good FUE surgeons achieve. HASCI hair generally gets implanted at weird angles
    * Since HASCI transplants way less hair/follicle than FUE surgeons, you'll need to have way more surgeries to achieve the same result.

The only advantage here might be that because of the small drill sizes, scarring might be less visible. If this is important to you, do some research into drill sizes that clinics use. Various clinics use the exact same diameter that HASCI uses, but without the hocus pocus stories and of course for way less money.

    Hey Arashi,

Thanks for the reply and thanks for clearing that up quickly without me having to trawl through so much info. The HASCI website result pics look so good! But I guess this is like anything else.

I am currently on FIN but Have been considering FUE for a couple of years now, it still scares me and this is why coming across this seemed like a dream come true. I guess its still a waiting game until anything revolutionary comes to light eh ...

Oh, I just came across this . . makes for good reading:

    1) Low 1.28 hair/graft transplants, gives the illusion that HASCI can transplant more hair than anyone else.
    2) They split follicular units, which gives the illusion of regrowth.
    3) They tell you that they can only perform their magic once per 9 months, so donor depletion will take a lot of time.
4)They won't drill follicles too close together, nor will they do big sessions..
    5) Steep costs will ensure you run out of money before your donor runs out of hair.
    6) They will NOT perform a 50 graft test to help you find out if it works, even if you offer them thousands of euro's .
    7) Free sessions for celebrities, give the general public a feeling that they must be doing something good.
    8) Publication of their technique in a magazine will give the general public an idea that it will work

You better off doing FUE. most of the guys who done HST including me are not satisfied and wont do it again.
