"Although the science is currently futuristic," he added.

And there it is, good news is always shot down.

If it came out tomorrow its 10 years so I would say 20+ bare minimum. One of those someday maybe things. Nifty but probably not that practical for our life times.

Who knows. Maybe this could do it one day. I like that it has MIT and Nature associated with it.

Nah. Genome editing has been around for a long time already. Sangamo's ZFN technology is more costly and cumbersome than the newer virus based strategies but at least it hasnt caused cancer and seems safe. So this newer technology might have some advantages on paper, but years and years of testing will follow (sangamo has been testing an AIDS cure based on DNA editing for years already and they're STILL in phase 2) and most probably they'll try it first for more serious diseases.

So dont expect anything within 10 years here.

And even then, changing your DNA just to solve your hairloss, that seems quite a leap ...

Been on Fin + Minox since 2008. It's slowed my loss, but last few years I've had to use dermach hair loss concealer. I can't cover this any longer, they need to step up and help us. It's been too long.
