Can we change solution having different composition??

I had hair loss.my doc asked me to use a solution containing(minoxidil 5%,aminexil1.5% ).i wasn't happy wid d results after 3 months..so he gave me regaine(minoxidil 5% solution)..I am using it for 4 months..n now I feel that d hair loss s more when compared to d first solution..my density s goin on decreasing every month..is this bcoz I changed d solution having different composition or is minoxidil not working for me..my father has more density than me now..n I'm just 22..wat should I do??help me here ..pls..
