    Default Facial Transplant

Hey guys. So here it is....I'm 27, with basically no facial hair. I can grow sparse hair on my upper lip and some on my chin and a little where my sideburns should be. Not enough to actually grow anything, but enough that I HAVE to shave a few times per week as to avoid looking like a 15 year old who's attempting to grow a mustache.

Just as a background, I'm of Italian and Irish heritage. My father can grow a beard...which really makes me wonder why I can't.

I have tried to find remedies for this since I was around 17 or 18 but everywhere I look, all I seem to find is that hair transplant surgery is the only way to fix the problem. Of course, I have a TON of questions.

Am I correct in my assessment that surgery is the only fix?
Does the surgery actually work and look authentic? If I grow out a beard will it look like facial hair?
How expensive is this entire process (assuming I need to transplant an entire beard)?
What will it do to my hair when they take the graphs out?

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

I would try to put some Latisee on your mustache to see if it will fill in. It’s a drug sold to grow eyelashes, but I know one person who grew her eyebrows much thicker using it. It worth a try before you think about having surgery.

Do you think that would help hair grow where there is none?

I think that Latisee has a better chance of thickening existing hairs that making hair grow where it has never grown before. Latisee does not create new hair follicles. Facial hair transplants is an option

I think there is something stopping the hair from growing. I have patches and scattered hairs, but nothing even close to being able to grow a beard. If I don't shave, my chin (and sole patch) will be covered in hairs, but not enough that I can grow a goatee...same with my mustache.

My sideburns (chinstrap/chops area) grows scattered hairs as well...and when I run my hand over it, I can feel more coarse hairs than I can see. Not sure whats up with the whole situation.

I thought about hair transplant surgery but I don't think I can afford it....and I like to wear my hair short (2 clip), which wouldn't be possible anymore. I just want to not have to shave every one or 2 days w/out looking like a 15 year old trying to grow a beard...and right now, that's just not possible.
