Scar Revision
Hello all-
I'm a 30 year old man who had FUT with Dr. Robert Leonard in Rhode Island in 2012 (when I was 26). I ended up with quite a wide scar, questionable transplant growth, and long term loss of feeling above donor/strip area. I was also not given a graft count on the day of surgery. In hindsight I cannot help but feel exploited given the cost, aggressive marketing, and advanced stage of where FUT methodology was in 2012.
10 days ago I had a scar revision procedure performed by Dr. Robert Dorin in NY. I am pleased with his conservative approach and bedside manner to date. ~360 grafts were salvaged from the excised scar and placed in the crown area of scalp. Time will tell if the area will heal with a finer scar this time around.
Figured I would share my story considering I didn't see any feedback on Dr. Robert Leonard on this website. I am a small business owner in industrial products and have no commercial ties to the medical or surgical field whatsoever. Just a guy who started balding in early 20's and hope to help anyone in my position make a more informed decision that I did.
