M (25): Typical "Am I balding?" thread - please help
Hello,
So... I'm growing my hair out, and I'm not sure if I'm just not used to the "pulled-back" look, or if I'm actually receding. I know that I'm probably displacing anxieties onto this.
So, getting right to the issue: Am I going bald/thinning? http://imgur.com/a/B5WAF
^First two photos have overhead light, 3rd is looking head on, last two have better overall lighting so I included them.
Hairline 4 years ago (sorry - nothing super high quality). NOTE that my hair is not pulled back, so the corners are covered by hair: http://imgur.com/a/tg1C6
Also - fully aware that this is nothing compared to most seeking help on these forums. Guess I'm just

Okay. My hair has looked like that since I was pretty young (16-17). Big thing for me is I have a 3-head (can't fit 4-fingers on my head) and that hasn't changed since I was really young. Just the corners seem sliiiiightly more pronounced, but maybe it's just the change in hairstyle/part.

Hairline looks strong,im a little older than you and mine is a little deeper and that happened real quick before i got on treatment. I would just check on it from time to time but i wouldnt take anything unless it progresses. In my opinion, take it for what you will if you do progress it probably wont be till your mid thirties or early 40's. Whcih would make you a lucky one. Again thats just total speculation based on just how many people actually lose hair, its pretty much all men at somepoint. But hey you could be one of those lucky ronald regans or bill clintons. Overall looks good man dont sweat it

Low foreheads are such a luxury, i have to wear bangs because i have tall forehead. My girlfriend is always trying to get me to slick my hair back because according to her "big foreheads are sexy" I think there is something wrong with her lol

Thanks for this! REALLY appreciate the feedback, I was obsessing for a while. Found some older photos of myself that more or less confirm this is just my hairline, always has been. I guess the long hair just made it look so different... I didn't realize it went back like that on the sides. They were always covered. See these photos for reference (all of them are from 4+ years ago): http://imgur.com/a/pByT8
Also my girlfriend likes foreheads too... I'm not sure that's crazy. Maybe we're on to something

Yeah I definitely dont see any difference. Long hair can definitely exaggerate a hairline.

your name speaks the truth! nothing to worry about here.
You're in a good place now, you know your hair and your hairline. Monitor it if it bothers you (every 6 months or so) and you'll know if you start to loose hair. Then you can try treatments IF it ever happens.
