Hello Helloimme...it is a good thing that you joined this,
the best hairloss forum, BTT!
First of all, You must be accepting of how your hairline is for right now!
Do NOT ALLOW yourself to become stressed-out and worried about this!
If you allow yourself to be stressed out, then stress WILL really cause much more unnecessary issues to your hairline and eventually to your HEALTH.
There is no need for any of that...I hope that you understand my point.
Now, your hair is relatively NICE! I wish my hair looked like yours!
Its possible that,
(especially when you are accepting of whatever it is, calm and happy with your life),
your hair may not become a serious hairloss problem.....Your father doesn't have big hairloss.
Start using Biotin and maybe you should consider using Minoxidil too.
Eventually you might consider taking Finasteride as well.
You should consult with a good doctor about that first.
Cheers!

I'm 23 now, and my hairline has gotten a little more jagged than it used to be, although it was NEVER strong
My maternal grandpa has a super thick, full head of hair at age 80.
But my dads hair is extremely thin and heavily receded (didn't flat out bald though)
Sorry I don't have pictures for comparison, it's been a long time since age 17..

Start rogaine foam twice a day and be consistent with it if you care about your hair.
Start Nizoral shampoo 1% 3 times a week.
Take pictures from all angles. Compare every 6 months.
If you are losing hair after a year on above treatments consider the real treatment finasteride, just know it brings real risk.
----
In my case rogaine stopped my loss for 1 year on its own but no real regrowth. I started slowly losing after a year.
Started finasteride at that point. Finasteride is far more effective than Rogaine for most people, me included. I actually got hairline regrowth for hair I lost 3 years ago from finasteride at 7 months using. You can see my pics in my thread.

You seem as if your hair line is maturing, but start taking consistent photos every few months. Seek maximal medical therapy to thicken the front and attempt reversal, but you can use concealers to improve the appearance of your hair as well.

Thank you for all the answers, opinions and advice everyone really appreciate it
I started on a ketoconazole containing shampoo at the moment and take a biotin supplement
I was hoping to avoid minoxidil/finasteride but will start if it gets any worse
I have used a concealer (dermmatch) to lower my hairline these past few years, but a common thing I heard was that my hair looked unnatural or painted on (as an ex described it)
Thank you everyone!

Hairline looks dense and no clear recession. All good.
