Shock loss around scar at six months

Im six month post op and the results are excellent but I still have shock loss around the scar and the hair that grew back is way darker than the rest of my hair. The hair covers the scar even when short but the darker hair shows a very obvious line. Can anyone give some insight?

I wouldn't worry as hair will calm down and as it weathers /cycles will soon change.

Hi. Posting the photos of the area(s) would be helpful. Thanks for sharing.

Im having a hard time getting pics on here but did you mean the dark hair around the scar will change to the regular color or the shock lossed hair will come back

This is a phenomenon that varies from patient to patient. Sometimes it does not resolve, sometimes it does. One time I had a patient whose entire transplanted zone grew in a few solid shades darker than the rest of his hair so it was dark on the top and light on the sides and the back.

When it comes to the donor scar, hair growing out of the scar usually is the darker hairs but for the hairs that were shocked to come back darker is most likely a temporary issue. If you are using a smart phone, use the timer feature on the camera app or download one if your phone doesn't come with one. Then set it up on a counter and be sure that the light source that is reflecting on your head is behind the camera, not behind you. You will probably have to try a few times to get a good focused shot but a timer app will make it a lot easier to do.
