salon recommended shampoos..?

I have a dermatology appointment scheduled to discuss other options but i Was wondering if you guys know of any shampoos that actually decrease shedding and over all loss?

I have bought the "pura d'or hair loss prevention therapy shampoo" which claims to have 12 DHT blockers. I also bought the "surface awaken thereapeutic" shampoo and conditioner. not sure about results yet but have any of you tried these?
and does having a DHT blocker in something like shampoo actually help?
