Worth trying minoxidil? (photo)

Hey all,

So I'm 26 now, my hair has been quite rapidly thinning on top in the last 4 years or so, and now it's like this: http://i66.tinypic.com/oubprp.png

Basically I'm happy with my hairline, it's just that the hair has become very thin on top and seems to grow very slowly compared to the sides.

Is minoxidil worth giving a go in these circumstances, i.e. what are the odds of seeing any improvements? In terms of getting more hair on top, not maintaining the status quo.
