HELP- Just Turned 19 & Receding

I just turned 19. I noticed my hairline receding about a year ago but my parents kept telling me it was fine and dandy even though i was developing the "M" shaped hairline. I always had thick hair and people would always compliment me. But now I'm paranoid because my temple, especially the left one, has receded and I can't style in like I used to. Its very frustrating. I try to talk to my parents about it but they think I'm crazy and keep telling me that I'm annoying and have OCD. I can't sleep at night. I spend every other minute of my day thinking of it. I've been using a hairmax for the last 3 weeks but I don't think it helps with receding hairlines. I know its receding I've done my research. I'm just afraid to take finasteride because I'm still young and growing. Please see my attached pictures and tell me what scale I am on the Norwood. I look like a total fool and its embarrassing. hey alex, welcome to the forums. Just a few questions how's your family's history on hair loss (if any) starting with your father? Taking finasteride can be a big step for some so what you can do is keep taking pictures and hold off for a year and compare results by then if you see changes then you can talk to a dermatologist but if you see no changes then you might just have an early matured hair line but overall your hair looks quite thick so I would just take pics and compare in a year. Don't stress yourself out too much about this either.

      Thanks

Thanks for your speedy response. I've been monitoring and taking pictures since last year and it's gotten marginally worse. Should I continue for at least another year? And my father started receding in his 20s and had a somewhat noticeable receding hairline by the time he was 30. My maternal grandfather had a full perm until he was 50 and my paternal grandfather had very thick hair and a low hairline. My great great grandfather also had very thick hair until he was 80 with very little recession. My uncle on my moms side has thick hair with no recession.

Sounds like you might be fine, but yes monitor it for another year at least. From what I hear taking fin when its not really needed can make things worse so you don't want to take it if you don't have to. Im sure its just a maturing hair line and might not even get worse so I think you'll be fine bro.
