I must say I find "mature hairline" dubious as well. Isn't it really just slow moving MPB? I'm 36.

Telling someone most men lose some hair and get mature hairlines as they age and they should just accept that as normal is exactly the same as telling a bald guy most men go bald as they get older and to just accept that. Its a bit silly really. If it quacks like a duck, smells like a duck then its probably a duck. The mature hairline term itself is just bizarre to me like trying to rationalize away some hair loss simply because it happens to most men. You could easily apply the same argument to MPB itself what really distinguishes the two? It feels so arbitrary and pretend to me.
Pertaining to this question though I would go by what the doctor/medical professional tells you, and partly on your knowledge of family history/older pictures. You dont want to take anything if you dont have MPB to begin with.

my age doesn't really matter.. i'm older than most people here and it still hurts just as much now as it did when i was younger

jjo , i'm glad that you finally responded here but you're not allowing yourself to respond to my important questions.
Again as I have said,

Age does matter!
I'm pretty sure that I'm older than you...
It will be 58 years old towards the end of this year... That being said I have very good foresight and honest objectivity i'm here to try to help others!! You said:

Actually it does matter!
If you're a teenager then I can understand your emotional issues but if you're closer to my age you shouldn't be feeling this way at all.

If you're much older than other people here on this forum, like my age ,
Then you should be able to realize what life is suppose to be --happy regardless of any personal issues!!
