Frontal balding or just widow's peak?

Hi all. I have always had a widow's peak but it seemed for a while that the sides of my front were slowly receding. I recently shaved my hair short and realized that I may be having some balding process there. I didn't notice any hair falling out, but I am only 21. My grandfather was the only one in the family who was balding.
