Dr. Wolfeld: Yes, it is different. Hair transplantation can be performed with [African] hair.

However, because [it] hair may be kinkier or more textured than [hair of other ethnicities], it just makes the procedure a little bit different.

We can also do robotic hair transplant procedures on [black and African] patients. Our robotic system, which is the ARTAS robotic system, knows how to identify [afro-textured] hair to adequately harvest the grafts for proper hair transplantation.
