Default The effect of Switching from minoxidil to PRP

So when i visited London's leading hair loss clinic (the Belgravia Centre) a specialist told me that not only does she believe Prp works but also that it can be a substitute for minoxidil. She claimed they work in an incredibly similar way promoting similar growth factors and by generally just increasing blood flow.

I've had great success in completely halting my hairloss with minoxidil but due to the fact i think its awful for facial skin i'm contemplating ditching minox entirely and going for PRP. If i could get a side effect free treatment only 2 times every year and maintain (most) of my hair what a result that would be!

What's anyone position on switiching from Minox to prp? Think it will work?

This clinic i went to doesnt sell Prp but does sell minox so little reason for the specialist to lie?!

    Thanks everyone

If PRP worked, we would know about it. We have seen incredible results on minoxidil and there have been conclusive studies with hair growth counts... IMO, PRP is hypothetical jargon, and I strongly believe that every one else on here will tell you the same. I do think, however, that PRP/acell is good in conjunction with an HT as it can promote wound healing and allow the grafts to sustain and regrow strongly. I DO NOT think it's anything like minoxidil. It will not promote new hair growth, or keep hairs in anagen, like minox. Minox is a vasodilator that was first used to treat hypertension... ask her HOW exactly PRP works through this same mechanism..

I had 6 PPRP (Pure PRP) injections with 0 results.
2.5 month on Minox and shedding is almost gone and have nice regrowth.

But I don't know about poor skin on minox. What do you mean? Is it permanent? I haven't noticed anything yet :|

You need to eat healthy and drink clean mineral water daily to hydrate the skin. Minoxidil bloats your face, drink 2-3 liters clean water and eat high alkaline you will see a difference in your skin.
