His relationship with Penny is in danger because he wants to prove to Big Pharma that he can grow his hair long without their help and he's worthy of Penny, with his long locks.

At least living the life of Desmond on Lost is less complicated and depressing than losing all your hair.

I hope he shows up with some of his latest news. He is certainly one of the best here in recovering information...

Yes, time traveling and telling the future is not as bad as MPB.

Hahahaha uh man. I have so much love for this thread like you wouldn't believe Lost is still the greatest show in my books.
I'm still around guys and check these threads regularly. Tbh, now that I'm a bit older and have seen how this industry operates I've kinda lowered my expectations a bit.
- Histogen is still making empty promises.
- Replicel still hasn't released their Phase I results that lasted 12 months! It was completed years ago. Those results would have confirmed the DHT immunity theory but they've chosen to keep it a secret!
- Aderans is gone.
- Samumed is going to face a mountain of hurdles imposed by FDA due to the Mechanism of action of their product. FDA will definitely wanna see a much longer trial to rule out carcinogenicity risks.
- Follicept failed to regrow lost hair.
- Follica is a ghost thinking it's still alive!
- Follicum ended up being similar to Minoxidil.
- Bimatoprost was unable to beat Minoxidil even at high doses.
- Tsuji labs is still saying 10 years like they did 4 years ago
- Lauster team still hasn't managed to create a fully functional hair follicle even with their microchip technology.
- JAK inhibitors are most probably just a hype. I can't see how suppressing your immune system would induce the 'First dermal signal' instructing epidermal cells to form a placode and ultimately a hair follicle. MPB patophysiology is completely different to Alopecia areata (autoimmune disorder).
- CB-03-01 is still 3-5 years away, and that's if the new company deems it profitable enough to release! I found out recently Cosmo pharmaceutical no longer exists
The truth of the matter: cure is still years away. If you don't halt your hair loss with Fin or Dut then you will lose your hair. Sad times indeed.
That's my thoughts for tonight. 112 minutes is up and I've gotta run back to the hatch.
See you in another life brothers hopefully with a head full of hair
The legend is back ! Haha hey Desmond good to see you here again ! And I fully agree with your statements. In fact, a few years ago we had all this hope, the future looked so bright, we thought we could make 2 hairs out of 1 already (HASCI) and either Histogen, Replicel or Aderans would bring true hair multiplication within a few years. HASCI turned out to be a scam and the others still make empty promises without results. And that's been always the same the last few years, either companies turned out to be scams or they just died.
Still, progress is being made, not sure if you saw this publication but it got me excited: https://www.sciencedaily.com/release...0119141418.htm although also still far future music of course
Bottom line is, the future looks darker now than it looked a few years ago ...

I actually read this study a week ago! It is definitely the platform necessary for a future AI system that can run billions of algorithms a minute to find the right genes for cell proliferation.
Interstingly enough, Craig Venter, the king of genetics, has started a company called 'Human Longevity Inc, that is looking at the genes that switch off as we get older that lead to hairloss, loss of skin elasticity and ultimately organ failure. Imagine loading his findings into this platform and finding the target genes. Now wouldn't that be the day
In some ways I'm hoping for Kurzweil's predictions to come about and by 2025 we actually have computers advanced enough that can solve many of these problems esp. MPB for all our sakes lol
at least one good thing in comparison to 2000s, snake oil ads have been significantly reduced. I hardly see people posting snake oil and asking if it could actually work.
yeah at least I am happy about it. the market is much more mature now.
agree with Desmondi I dont think cure is coming anytime in our lifetime. i believe no news is good news because no one is bullsh*tting now

So why Shisheido invest in replicel technology?

Good to see you back, brother!
We should find a way to go back in time ad provide all the research and technology to scientists in the 70s so that WE could have the cure by now..
Desmond I'm sure you could manage that....................................
since 2009 there as been the old same stories of the "5 years away".
What about Professor Colin Jahoda of Durham? Any hope from there?
