    What NW is this?

Or any other scale you want to use.

Is the attempt at hair fooling no-one and should I just shave it off?

Also please ignore the background in the pics! I know it's not the best lol but these are the pics which best show my hairline.

    Thanks!

Hello Tim1986 and welcome to BTT! You came to the right place for advice.

I see that you added '1986' to your member name.
Is that the year that you were born?
If so you would be, or close to, 30 years old now.

Can you please let us all know your age?
Your photos are OK to see that you are experiencing some hairloss.
You can get very good advice here but first of all, how old are you and how are your emotions on your hair?
Stay positive bro,,your hair CAN be improved.

Hi Artista and thank you for your reply.

      I am 29, 30 this year, born in 1986.

I used to worry a lot about it, now I am moving onto te "get real and take action" stage.

But I need some objective opinions from others on how balding/bald I am before I can really know how I feel about it or what to do. If that makes sense. :/

Luckily I have a gf but I am not sure her real opinion. I guess it would worry me if it affected her attraction. She doesn't like shaved heads but I wonder, is the hairloss obvious anyway?

Hey Tim, from the photos it would appear you're Norwood 3V, however it's hard to tell if the other hair is miniaturized, I would say it would be safe to assume you may end up Norwood 5A in the future, I'm a year older than you, so I understand what it feels like to be young and balding, I think it's a good age to do something about your hairloss but always keep in mind that you will inevitably lose more hair even if your on meds so always be mindful of that, DO NOT touch the crown, leave as is trust me you want to rebuild the hairline first and foremost, you still have a lot of hair in your crown and it's hard to gauge how far it will dip.

          Hi Tim,
It looks like you are NW-3V/4. I'd start using finasteride.

According to what your girlfriend thinks of your hair loss:
I'd like to give you an example, though it is not related to hair loss, I think it shows how people react to the emphasized points. I opened your thread and started from the photos first. I viewed the photos and returned to the message. When I reached the words 'please ignore the background in the pics' I returned back to the photos to see the background. Do you understand what I mean? Till you don't emphasise the problem, it won't be so evident.
