Maybe this one is easier to understand. I had never heard of adenosine before you mentioned it, but this small study showed that adenosine 0.75% was about equally effective as minoxidil 5%. One of the conclusions was that there should be bigger studies with different dosings, so it doesn't seem like it has been fully researched yet (it might be better than minoxidil, the same, or worse). It does look to be a little expensive. Some people say one bottle is lasting them a whole year while others say 1,5-2 months. The latter seems more likely to me (it's only 150ml) and in that case I think it's a lot more expensive to use than minoxidil.

edit: according to a product description on a Dutch webshop one bottle should only last about a month, which is pretty expensive at €61,90.
